Resize adjacent windows together
Use Sticky Resize to move a shared edge and resize neighboring windows together.
Move a shared edge
- Enable Sticky Resize in Window Management → Window Arrangement.
- Place the two windows next to each other.
- Drag their shared edge. If a modifier key is required, hold that key while resizing.
- Check that the neighboring window resizes too.
Adjust the behavior
| Setting | Effect |
|---|---|
| Adjacent-window detection range | Sets the largest gap treated as adjacent. Standard is 12px; choosing a range is a Pro feature. |
| Allow corner resize | Includes corner dragging in linked resizing. Requires Pro. |
| Highlight style and ratio ruler | Show affected boundaries and proportions. Require Pro. |
| Require modifier key | Links resizing only while the chosen key is held; otherwise resizing remains normal. |
Choose the detection range
The detection range controls which gaps count as adjacent. It does not automatically create spacing between windows.
| Choice | Range | When to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Very strict | 4px | Link only nearly touching windows |
| Strict | 8px | Use a smaller range than standard |
| Standard | 12px | The default; also used while Pro settings are locked |
| Relaxed | 16px | Include somewhat larger gaps |
| Very relaxed | 20px | Include a wider gap |
Without Pro access, Corral uses Standard 12px while retaining your saved choice. If widening the range affects unexpected windows, choose a narrower range.
Multiple windows and visual options
The Pro multi-window setting offers Adjacent only for direct neighbors and Preserve grid for maintaining connected rows and columns. Try two windows first, then add more to understand the difference.
Highlight style marks either the center region or shared edges. Enabling the ratio ruler hides the center highlight and shows the boundary guide instead.
The ruler may not appear on monitors whose scaled display area is 1280×720 or smaller. A missing ruler does not by itself mean Sticky Resize is disabled.
If windows do not resize as expected
Check adjacency, enablement, and the modifier-key requirement first.
macOS already uses Option and Shift for its own resizing behaviors. Choose Control or Command as the Sticky Resize modifier.
