macOS and Windows settings
Check OS-specific behavior such as the green-button menu, title-bar maximize, and fullscreen placement.
macOS: the green-button menu
Hover over a window’s green button to use Corral’s placement menu. Alongside built-in arrangements, you can find custom layouts and snapshots.
The hover delay controls how long the pointer must stay before the menu opens, in milliseconds (ms). If the menu does not appear, check both Accessibility and Input Monitoring.
Entering fullscreen is different from applying a normal window layout. Exit fullscreen before arranging such a window with a normal layout.
macOS: native tiling and Window Snap
On macOS 15 and later, Window Snap settings include an option to disable native tiling and use Corral Window Snap. It helps avoid both systems reacting to the same drag.
This changes local system settings, not profile or server-sync data. If not all tiling settings can be changed, Window Snap remains off; inspect the error notice.
Windows: double-clicking the title bar
| Choice | Behavior |
|---|---|
| System maximize | Uses the standard Windows maximize behavior. |
| Corral maximize | Fills the current monitor using Corral’s placement behavior. |
Double-click a normal window’s title bar to check the result. This is separate from automatically leaving fullscreen and from Windows Snap windows.
Windows: placement from fullscreen
Keep fullscreen is the default. It skips placement of fullscreen windows and asks you to exit fullscreen first. Exit fullscreen before placement attempts to leave fullscreen and only places the window once restoration is confirmed.
Excluded apps and windows whose fullscreen exit cannot be confirmed are skipped. Exclusive-fullscreen states can also prevent the attempt, and success is not guaranteed for every app. Exit fullscreen using the app’s own controls if necessary, then retry.
This setting applies to single-window placement. It does not force fullscreen exit for swaps, snapshot restores, or Sticky Resize. It persists across window-management profile changes.
Windows: show contents while dragging
The full-window dragging setting controls whether Windows shows window contents while moving or resizing. Keeping it enabled helps prevent the system outline from covering Corral overlays.
It changes a Windows-wide display setting and affects dragging in other apps. Check the current choice before changing it.
