Arrange your first window
Open Corral, complete the required setup, and place one window on the left half of your screen.
Before you begin
Corral manages window positions and sizes on macOS and Windows. Install the version for your operating system, then complete the permissions and system settings shown at first launch.
Open Corral from the menu bar. If the permissions screen appears, check Accessibility and Input Monitoring.
Open Corral from the system tray. Follow the first-launch instructions to turn off Windows Snap windows, then recheck the status.
Move a window to the left half
Start the first-launch walkthrough
Choose Start in the introductory window-arrangement walkthrough. Corral opens a demo window.
Press the shortcut shown in the walkthrough
Press the complete key combination shown on screen. Shortcuts can vary with your settings.
Check the window position
The first arrangement is complete when the demo window moves to the left half of the screen. Continue exploring or choose Finish to end the walkthrough.
Apply a layout to your own window
Select a normal browser or notes window. In Window Management → Layouts, check the shortcut assigned to Left Half. Return to the target window and press that combination.
Corral closes the demo windows it created when you finish or skip onboarding. Arrangements you apply to your own work windows remain in place.
Understand the different features
Distinguish how you move a window from what you save. This makes it easier to choose the right feature.

Example: place a browser beside your notes
- Open a normal browser window and a notes window. Exit fullscreen first if necessary.
- Check the Left Half and Right Half shortcuts in Window Management → Layouts. Assign a shortcut first if an entry is unassigned.
- Click the browser to make it active, then press the Left Half shortcut.
- Click the notes window and press the Right Half shortcut.
- Once the edges meet, try Sticky Resize to adjust the proportions.
The window you want to arrange must be active, not the Corral settings window. Save the result as a Layout Snapshot if you want to reuse it.
Return to the walkthrough later
You can restart onboarding from General settings. To check shortcuts without repeating the walkthrough, open the shortcut help from the menu bar or tray, or use the shortcut cheatsheet control in General.
If the first action is not detected, check the displayed key combination and permissions. Retry the step, or skip it and return later. If a cleanup warning appears, retry cleanup to close any remaining demo windows.
