Multiple monitors and grid profiles

Manage display proportions, snap configurations, and snapshot scope separately.

Three grid profiles

ProfileGridAutomatic recommendation
Default12×12Width-to-height ratio below 2
Ultrawide24×12Ratio at least 2 and below 3
Super-ultrawide36×12Ratio at least 3

Choose an active monitor to see its recommended profile, or select one manually. A high resolution alone does not make a display ultrawide; the recommendation uses its aspect ratio.

Use layouts on another display

A custom layout cannot be applied when its grid profile differs from the target monitor’s profile. If a mismatch is reported, use a layout with the correct profile.

Changing profiles while editing

Existing areas are cleared, not converted. Choose the active monitor and grid profile before drawing.

Share snap settings or configure each monitor

Choose the monitor configuration mode in Window Management → Window Snap. Shared mode reuses one configuration. Per-monitor configuration is a Pro feature.

When configuring monitors separately, check the selected monitor before editing edge actions or Top HUD slots, then save. Recheck displays after reconnecting a monitor or when display information cannot be loaded.

Save windows across multiple monitors

Enable the slot’s multi-monitor option in Window Management → Snapshots before capturing. Without it, capture and restore normally use the focused window’s monitor.

Use monitor identification in the snapshot editor to recognize each display. A saved window can only be reassigned to a monitor with the same grid profile. Editing does not move live windows.

After disconnecting or changing monitors

Snapshot restore uses currently available windows and monitors to process what it can. Check Skipped and Failed counts after changing displays.

Arrange windows for the new environment and save another snapshot, or review and edit the existing saved data. Before resetting an old snapshot, check that you no longer need its previous arrangement.
