Check and change shortcuts
Find each feature’s shortcut and choose combinations that do not conflict with other actions.
Find the right shortcut
| Task | Feature |
|---|---|
| Place a window in a half or third | Layouts |
| Return to an earlier position | Undo / Redo |
| Save multiple window positions | Snapshots |
| Exchange two window positions | Window Swap |
Select the shortcut for the relevant feature in Window Management and enter a new combination. If a registration error or conflict appears, choose another combination.
Record or clear a shortcut
- Check the current profile and operating system, then choose the action’s shortcut-assignment control.
- Confirm the action name in the recording overlay.
- Press the new combination and check the registered value after completion. Press Esc to cancel recording.
- Return to the target window and confirm the shortcut performs the action.
Use the individual shortcut-clear action to remove an assignment. The entry then appears unassigned.
Separate OS assignments and resolve conflicts
Enable separate shortcut management by OS at the top of Window Management to configure Windows and macOS independently. Check the OS selector first. Editing the other OS’s shortcuts does not necessarily change the current device’s combination.
If the combination is already assigned, check the named action and choose another combination. A shortcut-status-unavailable notice is different from a confirmed conflict: retry the status check or follow the recovery notice to inspect the affected entries.
Confirm that you want to restore defaults for all shortcuts. For one conflict, change or clear that individual assignment instead.
Shortcuts and modifier requirements are different
The Window Snap and Sticky Resize modifiers are keys held while dragging with the mouse. They are not standalone shortcuts that place a window when pressed alone.
If an assigned shortcut does not respond
Check permissions, shortcut conflicts, and target-app exclusions. On macOS, if some shortcuts stopped after password entry, see Secure Input.
