Privacy Policy
Effective Date: April 11, 2026
Corral ("we", "us", or "our") is a desktop window management application published by Liv Team (Bundle ID: com.livteam.corral), available on macOS and Windows. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we need it, and how we handle it when you use Corral and its related services.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
If you sign in to use cloud sync, feedback, or Pro access, we receive account and authentication information from our identity provider, Clerk. This may include your email address, display name, and authentication tokens. You can sign in with email or a supported SSO provider.
1.2 Settings, Local Data, & Sync Data
Corral stores app settings and related operating data in your device's application data
directory, such as ~/Library/Application Support/corral on macOS and
%APPDATA%\corral on Windows. This can include general preferences, keyboard
shortcuts, custom layouts, layout snapshots, preset exclusion lists, and local window-move
history. If you turn on cloud sync, the settings and sync metadata needed to keep your
devices aligned are sent to and stored on our servers.
1.3 User-Generated Content
If you use the in-app feedback system, we collect the content of feature requests and bug reports you submit, related metadata, and vote activity. If you submit a preset-exclusion suggestion, we collect the match rule, display name, and operating system you provide.
1.4 Automatically Collected Information
- Operating system type and accessibility permission status
- Account and sync identifiers such as Clerk user ID, session ID, and sync status metadata
- Server sync security data such as device identifier, device name, key identifiers, and signed request metadata
- Application access status returned by our server for server-connected features
1.5 Information We Do NOT Collect
Corral needs accessibility permissions to manage window positions, but we keep that access narrow:
- We do not capture or transmit window content, screen captures, or screenshots
- We do not access application data from other programs
- We do not record keystrokes or input data (we only register global keyboard shortcuts)
- We do not collect browsing history, personal files, or file system contents
- We do not read or transmit the content displayed in managed windows. Some features store only window position, size, and process identity as needed for window management, layout snapshots, or local history
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide core window management functionality (snapping, undo/redo, sticky resize, layout snapshots)
- To authenticate your account and maintain account, sync, and server access context
- To synchronize settings, shortcuts, layouts, snapshots, and related preferences across devices when cloud sync is enabled
- To serve and manage curated preset exclusion lists and user suggestions for apps that conflict with window presets
- To process and display community feature requests and bug reports
- To validate application access status for server-connected features
- To protect the service, authenticate server requests, and detect or prevent abuse
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only when it is needed to run the service, including:
- Clerk — for authentication, session management, and account operations
- Corral backend services — for cloud sync, feedback, application access checks, preset exclusion services, and related security operations
- Platform or payment providers — when downloads, purchases, renewals, or refunds are handled by a storefront or billing provider
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
4. Data Storage & Security
- Local storage: Settings, shortcuts, layouts, snapshots, and local history data are stored in the platform-specific application data directory on your device. Some of that data stays on your device until you remove the application data directory.
- Secure credential storage: When server sync is enabled, device identifiers and server sync credentials are stored using operating system credential storage where available.
- Cloud sync: When enabled, synced settings and related metadata are sent to our servers over encrypted connections. You can turn cloud sync off at any time to stop future sync.
- Security measures: We use measures such as encrypted communications, secure authentication via Clerk, signed requests for sync APIs, and access controls designed to protect the service.
5. Your Rights
- Access, correct, or delete account information through applicable account settings or by contacting us
- Disable cloud sync to stop future settings sync to our servers
- Delete locally stored app data by uninstalling the app and removing the application data directory from your device
- Edit or delete your own feedback submissions when those features are available in the app
- Contact us to request assistance with privacy or data rights questions
6. Accessibility Permissions
Corral requires operating system accessibility permissions (macOS Accessibility API / Windows input hooks) to manage window positions and respond to keyboard shortcuts. These permissions are used exclusively for window management operations. We do not use these permissions to monitor, record, or transmit any information about your activities in other applications.
7. Children's Privacy
Corral is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Data Retention
We keep account, sync, feedback, and related service data for as long as we need it to run the service, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Local data stays on your device until you uninstall the application or remove the application data directory. If you request account deletion, timing for connected service data may depend on follow-up backend or provider processing for the service involved.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the application or by posting an updated policy on this page with a revised effective date.
